Reaching out to others comes from a desire to make a positive difference in someone else's life.  This is the motivation behind an idea that Mike and Billy Stanton originated in an NGO they established www.nostringsattached.us .  Mike and Billy refurbish used and old guitars, make them like new, and donate them to those that cannot afford to purchase their own guitar.

Generation Iraq, through the help of our military in Kurdistan, our courageous representative, Haval Aziz, and the Kirkuk Center for Business and Professional Women has been able to sponsor the delivery of guitars to children in the Kurdistan community as a token of friendship from the Stanton brothers.

This is one example showing that it only takes a desire to help bring a smile to someone on the other side of the world to accomplish anything!  If you have access to a used guitar that you would like to donate please contact Mike and Billy at billy@nostringsattached.us

Mike and Billy were in high school when they came up with this idea. Now Mike is in college and, although he no longer lives at home, he continues to support his brother Billy with this program.

In addition to the guitars, these two wonderful young men also collect donations of manuals and music books to send along with the guitars.

Because of the wonderful opportunity the Stanton brothers have provided for children in Iraq, Generation Iraq has launched a program, Harmony in Bloom, to provide music instruction for the children in Kurdistan who have received these guitars. The program involves providing a guitar instructor for two days per week teaching a small group of orphans.
