2008

In collaboration with Mike and Billy Stanton of No Strings Attached, Generation Iraq receives refurbished guitars from this wonderful NGO and distributes them to the orphans at our sponsored orphanages.

Generation Iraq begins sponsorship of the US/Kurdistan Cultural Exchange in which the two culture exchange art work and exhibit them in public areas.

Generation Iraq obtains approval from the Ministry of Education to develop and teach Human Rights classes in Southern Iraq.

Generation Iraq continues supplying schools in Iraq with computers and training.

Youth from Generation Iraq and various other organizations participate in an Iraqi Youth Dialogue for Peace and National Reconciliation held in India.

Generation Iraq continues to provide bottled water during final exams to the School Partners Program students in Iraq.

2007

Generation Iraq teams up with Hands Across the Sea for a project that consists of children drawing and coloring a cut-out of their hands and sending them to other communities within Iraq as a sign of peace.

Iraqi Disabled Program begins.

Generation Iraq provides bottled water during final exams to the School Partners Program students in Iraq.

Thirty-three students in Basrah write letters to a class in New Orleans expressing their sympathies about the devastation of Katrina and enclose a flower and one or two dollars of their own money to help the children of Katrina in their time of need.

Working with Dr. Norvick at International Children's Heart Foundation, Generation Iraq provides a baby girl with heart surgery to repair a hole in her heart.

Generation Iraq continues the Orphan's Day program, originally created by Tamara Quinn while working with Spirit of America, and making it an annual event.

Baseball Beyond Borders begins with the help of USAID and in association with the Department of State and the Millennium Relief and Development Service. The project was the idea of five gifted students at Central Christian School in Clayton, Missouri: Abby, Alex, Clare, Elijah, and Nathan who wanted to share their favorite sport with Iraqi Children.

With the assistance of Patrick from Take Pride, t-shirts are manufactured using artwork provided by two of the children from the Art Conference, Mary and Yaser. These t-shirts are currently available through our online store. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the sale of these t-shirts goes to support our Orphans' Program.

Generation Iraq sponsors an Art Conference in Basrah in which orphans have an opportunity to tell their personal stories and express their feelings about violence, terrorism, and corruption through art.

School Partners Program continues and expands to include Australia.


2006

In Basrah, Generation Iraq sponsors a Traveling Youth Theatre which traveled around the various communities performing skits revolving around the importance of developing anticorruption practices in Iraq.

Generation Iraq sponsors a banquet for the orphans. Traditional Holiday meals were served and Iraq's heritage and culture were celebrated.

In collaboration with People to People International, Generation Iraq provides art supplies to our orphanages allowing the children to participate in People to People International's Iraqi Mural project.

Generation Iraq extends its vocational program to include computers and training for many schools throughout Iraq, as well as English as a second language classes. Adults within these communities were also given access, after the children, to develop their own computer skills and learn English as a second language.

Generation Iraq begins vocational training for the orphans by providing training in carpentry, floral design, sewing, computer training, and English as a second language for many children within the orphanages we sponsor.

Generation Iraq continues the American - Iraqi School Partners now known as the School Partners Program.

Tamara Quinn leaves Spirit of America to found Generation Iraq.
