We are all excited about our new Baseball project in Kurdistan provided by USAID association with the Department of State and the Millennium Relief and Development Service Organization.  The project was the brainchild of 5 gifted students at Central Christian School in Clayton, Missouri,   Abby, Alex, Clare, Elijah and Nathan. The children wanted to share their favorite sport with Iraqi children!  So the school with the help of their dedicated teacher Martha Anne promoted a campaign to gather donated baseball equipment from the parents and the community.  The result is the beginning of a new day for many students in Sulaymaniya, Iraq.

We congratulate Abby, Alex, Clare, Elijah and Nathan on their initiative and compassion for others across the world.

Generation Iraq aims at continuing its collaboration with Millennium Relief and Development Service Organization to provide baseball supplies to children in the area. Plans are currently under way to establish an on-going baseball training camp and forming local Little League teams for both boys and girls in the region. This program aims to provide much-needed recreational activities for these children while, at the same time, helping to instill within them a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie.
